Singapore Yachting Festival: Four superyachts in the spotlight at the show

SINGAPORE - A superyacht is the ultimate expression of the high life at sea - a private playground operated flawlessly by a professional crew.

These floating villas are designed for their multi-millionaire owners to cruise long distances in style and comfort. Complete with luxurious guest cabins, galleys or kitchens, lounges for socialising, languorous sundecks and swim platforms, the sanctuaries span between 24m and 50m in length.

This class of vessel sits just below the megayacht tier - vessels exceeding 50m in length - which offer even more elaborate amenities such as cinemas, spas and helipads.

Most superyachts are built on pre-designed platforms, allowing owners to customise layouts, materials and finishes. Prices typically range from US$12 million (S$15.3 million) to well over US$20 million, depending on the size and level of customisation.

According to the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Report 2025, an estimated 24 superyachts are based in Singapore.

Rarely accessible to the public, a select few are on display at the Singapore Yachting Festival from April 23 to 26, offering visitors a glimpse into this exclusive world.

There is a hint of high-performance sports cars in the Princess Y95. Its design was forged in partnership with Pininfarina, best known for shaping Ferraris. The Italian design house has infused the yacht with a sleek, timeless aesthetic.

Built by British yachtmaker Princess Yachts, the 29m superyacht delivers classic luxury defined by generous space, comfort and understated elegance.

The yacht features expansive outdoor decks, with a flybridge for both relaxation and navigation. Its five cabins accommodate up to 10 guests.

The Nomad 101 is an explorer-style yacht designed for long-distance cruising, potentially from Singapore to Japan.

Built by Gulf Craft, which is based in the billionaire-dense United Arab Emirates, the 31m yacht combines luxury with impressive range, capable of travelling more than 3,000 nautical miles without refuelling.

At an economical cruising speed, this theoretically allows voyages from Singapore to destinations such as Australia or Japan in a single stretch.

The yacht accommodates up to 10 guests, supported by a crew of six, and is designed for comfort over extended journeys.

After making its debut at the 2025 festival, the Nomad 101 returns as a showcase of luxury yachting.

This 31m model with a "beach club" is built by Italy's Sanlorenzo Yachts, known for its design-led ethos in creating yachts.

It embodies the brand's "crossover" concept, blending the practicality of an explorer yacht with the lifestyle experiences of a luxury flybridge yacht.

Accommodating eight guests and five crew, the SX100 stands out for its innovative use of space. Its defining feature is a large rear "beach club", where fold-out terraces transform the stern into a resort-like platform at water level.

Sanlorenzo Yachts' SD118, at approximately 36m, is designed for long-range cruising with an emphasis on comfort and refinement. With a range of about 2,500 nautical miles, it is built for extended onboard living.

The yacht accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins, supported by a five-member crew.

While its sister superyacht SX100 focuses on open rear spaces, the SD118's standout feature lies forward: The owner's suite connects directly to a private, two-level bow lounge, offering a secluded outdoor retreat rarely found on yachts of this size.
